Karatedo martial artist Nguyen Hoang Ngan won a
silver medal in the women''s kata (performance) event at the ongoing
Asian Games (ASIAD) in Incheon, South Korea yesterday.
Viet Nam won one gold, two silver and six bronze medals at the 14th
Asian Cadet, Junior & U-21 Karate Championships 2014 yesterday in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Viet Nam''s karate team picked up two silver medals and two bronze to rank eighth in the medal tally at the 2014 Indonesia Open Karate Championships which closed in Jakarta on Sunnday.
Karate is always one of Viet Nam''s top sports and has brought the
country many gold medals in international competitions. However, Viet
Nam may face difficulties at the 27th SEA Games.
Viet Nam has ten competitors appearing at the 2013 World Games, held in
Cali City, Colombia from July 25 to August 4, the organising board has
announced.
Viet Nam will take part in the second Southeast
Asian Karate Championships, hosted by the Philippines on April 18 to 21
at the Fontana in Clark Field Pampanga, Angele City.
The 21st World Karate Championships 2012 will
officially mark the return of Viet Nam''s former world champion Nguyen
Hoang Ngan after a two-year absence.
